Fairy Tattoo

A Fairy is a type of mythological being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural. The word fairy derives from the term fae of medieval Western European Last French folklore and romance, one famous example being Morgan le Fay was therefore everything that appertains to the "fae", and so the land of "fae", all the "fae". Finally the word replaced its original and one could speak of "a faery or fairy", though the word fey is still used as an adjective. 'Fae' is the plural, 'Faery' is the singular.

Dragon Tattoo

Tattoo Art-2

The definition of Tattoo Art and this evaluation has become especially problematic since the early 20th century. Richard Wollheim distinguishes three approaches: the Realist, whereby aesthetic quality is an absolute value independent of any human view; the Objectivist, whereby it is also an absolute value, but is dependent on general human experience; and the Relativist position, whereby it is not an absolute value, but depends on, and varies with, the human experience of different humans. An object may be characterized by the intentions, or lack thereof, of its creator, regardless of its apparent purpose. A cup, which ostensibly can be used as a container, may be considered art if intended solely as an ornament, while a painting may be deemed craft if mass-produced.

Tattoo Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music and literature. The meaning of tattoo art is explored in a branch of tattoo philosophy known as Aesthetics tattoo.

Celtic Tattoo Design

We know that in the 18th century the interest in 'primitivism', which led to the idea of the 'noble savage', brought a wave of enthusiasm for all things 'Celtic'. The antiquarian William Stukeley pictured a race of 'Ancient Britons' constructing the 'Temples of the Ancient Celts' such as Stonehenge before he decided in 1733 to recast the 'Celts' in his book as 'Druids'. The Ossian fables written by James Macpherson - portrayed as ancient Scottish Gaelic poems - added to this romantic enthusiasm. The 'Irish revival' came after the Catholic Emancipation Act of 1829 as a conscious attempt to demonstrate an Irish national identity, and with its counterpart in other countries subsequently became known as the 'Celtic revival'.
